Yet despite his winning forays into highly publicized courtroom conflicts, Mr. Leving has kept the core of his practice focused on ordinary fathers and grandparents who are fighting to rescue their children from abusive or otherwise dangerous environments. Many of his clients have come from Chicago, and to honor the struggle to provide residents of the city with positive male role models, he has founded The Fatherhood Educational Institute, which seeks to promote responsible father involvement in impoverished communities.
