Dunkerley is the author of The Phony Litvinenko Murder published by Omnicom Press. The book examines mainstream news reports that claimed Litvinenko was a former spy murdered with radioactive polonium on orders of Russian president Vladimir Putin. According to Dunkerley, those reports were based on fabrications produced by a wealthy Putin arch-enemy and are not factual.
The hoax, says Dunkerley, involves a news story that Russia has joined Britain in an effort to suppress British secret documents relevant to the case. But Dunkerley said he could find no substantiation that Russia had conspired with Britain on this at all. He documented that conclusion in his report, "British Litvinenko Case against Russia Disintegrating"
According to Dunkerley hearings held by London coroner Sir Robert Owen didn't seem to clear the air on any key issue in the case.
