Follow on Google News | Fort Myers selected to Host Private Movie ScreeningChrist Centered Life Store President Danny Vera has announced a private screening for community and business leaders on Thursday, March 7th, 2013, of the inspirational film, Home Run.
Produced by veteran television and film project developers Carol Mathews and Tom Newman, Home Run is the story of baseball all-star Cory Brand (Scott Elrod) who knows what it takes to win in the big league, but whose personal life is spiraling out of control. When his agent, (Vivica A. Fox) sends him back to the small town where he grew up to spend eight weeks in a recovery program, Cory finds himself on a powerful journey of transformation. Mathews and Newman skillfully incorporated the internationally recognized 12-step recovery program called Celebrate Recovery into the story. Since 1991, more than 19,000 locations across the country have hosted the program, which tackles the once-taboo topics of addiction and abuse in a supportive and loving setting. “To date, more than 800,000 people have been helped by the Celebrate Recovery program,” says Paul Lodato, CTN 10 Station Manager. “But we want to see even more people experience freedom from addiction. That’s why we’re offering this unique opportunity for business and community leaders to come together and learn how they can become involved in making a positive impact on southwest Florida.” Dwight Evans, a Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer and former MLB All-Star, will make an appearance and will be available for a meet and greet after the screening. First Assembly is one of 54 locations in 8 states that will be offering this special private screening for community and business leaders prior to the film’s April 19 theatrical release. End
