PODS® Las Vegas to support troops during Adopt an Airman event, March 2

Feb. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- (LAS VEGAS) – To show generosity and care for our troops, PODS Las Vegas, a moving and storage company, has teamed up with Adopt a Serviceman to collect donated items and letters for the servicemen and women of Southern Nevada on Saturday, March 2, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Silverton Hotel Casino. The hotel is located at 3333 Blue Diamond Road.

During the event, a PODS® container will be positioned in the hotel parking lot to safely and securely store the donated items and letters. The public is encouraged to drop off the following necessities to help support the military servicemen and women during their deployments: snacks, first aid essentials, bottled water and sports drinks, bedding sheets, alarm clocks, hygiene products, tissues, books, chapstik, ramen noodles, DVDs and CDs, stationary, instant coffee, games, batteries and air fresheners. The services PODS Las Vegas is providing will help save the organization thousands in moving and storage logistics.

The public will also have a chance to meet service members of the military who are stationed at Nellis Air Force Base and “adopt” them by giving their support and encouragement throughout their military journeys.

“Our servicemen and women sacrifice a lot to keep our country safe. It is great to know that we are not forgotten when we are away from home,” said Staff Sgt. Brian Pyles of Nellis Air Force Base. “We thank PODS Las Vegas for donating their services and their support of our troops.”
