“World Religions” class in Reno open for public

Twelve classical religions taught by experts besides Native American spirituality and Atheism.

Feb. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Washoe County Community Education, a collaborative venture of Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) and Washoe County School District, is offering class on “World Religions”, which is open to the public.

All are welcome to sign-up for “World Religions” (CR155C/16765), five sessions class taught from six to nine pm on Tuesdays, starting February 26, at TMCC Meadowood Center, Room S324, 5270 Neil Road, Reno. Tuition is $169 with discount for seniors.

Besides classical religions of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism, Baha’ism, Confucianism, Taoism, Shinto, Jainism, Zoroastrianism; it will also discuss Native American spirituality and Atheism. Well known religious statesman Rajan Zed will teach with experts of various religions joining as guest speakers.

We need to take religion seriously and religion is much more than one’s own particular tradition, Zed points out.
