7 Steps in Resolving Project Issues

7 Easy Steps to Resolve Crucial Project Management Conflicts

Feb. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- La Harba, CA, February 1 /ProjectManager/ --Project Manager has released yet another whiteboard session video; this time, it is all about fixing issues that project managers usually bump into during the implementation of a certain project. The most common project issue is selective amnesia; this is when a person forgets certain things or details of things after a given period.

What are project issues?

Project issues are factors that keep a project from completion. Common project issues are delayed or slow implementation and missing project details, which Jennifer Whitt- Bridges, Director or Project Manager, addressed to as Selective amnesia. “We’ve all seen it before, the phrases like, “I thought we talked about that? Didn’t we agree? Why are we doing this again?” So selective amnesia sets in on issues that are occurring on your projects. Or maybe things aren’t even talked about at all. They’re occurring. So these are seven tips we found to get action and get things resolved.” She said.

Project issues are easy to solve as long as there is a game plan and unanity of decisions between the project manager and his team. Jennifer Whitt - Bridges shared a few insights about resolving project issues fast. These issues can be resolved in seven feasible steps, She said in a Youtube video conducted by Project Manager Ltd.

To resolve project issues, a project manager should do the following:

1.       Get a register where he can log and issues on the project

2.       Assign a person to log the issues into the register

3.       Apply actions to these issues

4.       Monitor the progress regularly

5.       Knowing when to escalate an issue which is the most important

6.       Approve resolution after assessing the impact of proposed actions

7.       Close the case and move on to the next one

Details about the steps above have been thoroughly explained by Project Manager Ltd. in their whiteboard presentation on the said Youtube video, which is found at http://www.projectmanager.com/managing-project-issues.php.
