The event will focus on the many challenges facing independent filmmakers in Los Angeles. Garcetti understands the importance of bringing back and keeping film dollars in Los Angeles. “I am proud to have earned support from so many Hollywood leaders. More than a half-million jobs in our community are tied to our entertainment industry, and I will make sure we are always the entertainment capital of the world," says Garcetti. The heavy-hitter panel of indie filmmaking experts will discuss industry concerns offering suggestions to help bring significant production dollars back to the Los Angeles film market. Confirmed panelists include Director Ariel Vromen, Director Gabriela Tagliavini, producer Charles Berg, Rick Fishbein, President, West Board, Association of Independent Commercial Producers and Mikel Eliot, Managing Partner of Quixote/Smashbox Studios. Garcetti has also earned early support from many of Hollywood’s A-list entertainers and executives including Michael Eisner, Will Farrell, Kyra Sedgwick, Salma Hayek, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jimmy Kimmel, Tim Robbins, Hill Harper, Tatyana Ali, David Amboz of Disney, Tracy Do Real Estate, World Language Communications, Submission Promotion, Total Expose Public Relations, Christina McGeehan, Natasha Lee, and many others.
