Children are going to bed hungry. The Hope Center touches over 100,000 local family members a year. Hundreds of students from The Hope Center have found life changing jobs as OSHA certified Forklift Operators. Others have earned their GED or learned computer skills. The Hope Center educational program helps students pass their GED so they can get a better job. Volunteers, food, clothing or money all go direct to meet the needs of North Texas families that are struggling to put food on the table or just find a job. The resourceful staff, also beneficiaries in need, understand poverty first hand. They volunteer out of a sense of duty to repay the hand up they received. The Hope Center is not about giving a hand out but rather, they focus on offering a hand up. It takes more than words these days. It takes action. Orlando and JoAnn Reyes, founders, saw a need 10 years ago and North Texas is fortunate they did. Orlando and JoAnn Reyes, founders, make sure that families in need get food, clothing and job training that makes a real difference. Individuals can help by putting a food box at their church, store or business to collect canned goods. The numbers are staggering, in DFW alone... 1 of every 4 children is suffering from hunger, and more than 640,000 people are living in poverty?
