Family Promise of Lower Bucks announces first Board of Trustees

Family Promise of Lower Bucks, a new non profit organization in Lower Bucks County, Pennsylvania, recently established an esteemed Board of Trustees.
It all started in 2010 with a community meeting addressing Faith Congregations Networking Together to Solve Family Homelessness. At this time people were made aware that the number of homeless children right here in Lower Bucks had reached a staggering number. Over 400 children were registered as homeless in just seven local school districts. Try to imagine being a child dealing with peer pressure, issues of self-esteem and life changes and then add to the mix not knowing where you will sleep each night, whether you will be warm enough, or whether there will be enough food. It’s heartbreaking!.
From this meeting, a small group that evolved into Family Promise of Lower Bucks. Family Promise of Lower Bucks is a local chapter of Family Promise, a national organization with over 175 affiliates they use a very successful plan to provide not only housing and meals, but also support in areas such as parenting, budgeting, job interviewing, etc. This program gives families a place to be together while they are assisted in a structured program toward self sustainable living.
Family Promise of Lower Bucks hopes to open our doors in late 2013 for homeless families.
Family Promise of Lower Bucks is proud to announce our first full Board of Trustees, consisting of religious leaders, business leaders and community volunteers.
