Feb. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Has the last few weeks turned you into a ‘suitable’ shoe/boot wearing person?!  Well let’s embrace this new found freedom and continue to wear the now surprisingly fashionable Wellington boot (http://www.wellieswide.co.uk/blog/celebrities_wearing_wellies_2013.html) during the inaugural month of Febru-welly!

One outdoor tourist attraction has decided to no longer resist the incumbent British weather and instead wholeheartedly embrace it by creating a homage to the Wellington boot and dedicating a whole month to it!

In recognition of the practical boot that is now seen everywhere from paddocks to high streets and even in boutiques, Hodsock Priory, famous for its annual snowdrop spectacular is launching its very own ‘Febru-welly’ campaign!

“Wellies are such an iconic item of footwear and ideal for navigating the wintry paths at Hodsock (http://www.hodsockpriory.com/) during our snowdrop season,” said George Buchanan ninth generation resident and general manager Hodsock Priory located in Blyth, North Nottinghamshire. “We’re hoping to see all shapes, colours and patterns from traditional green, or high gloss, to ones with faces on and are encouraging visitors to share them with us for our very first ‘Febru-welly campaign!”

The team at Hodsock are encouraging visitors to take a photo of their wellies amongst the snowdrops and post them on Twitter (@Hodsock Priory) and Facebook www/facebook.com/hodsockpriory. At the end of the month the top ten pairs of wellies will be placed on its website!

“Visiting our snowdrop garden is a great way to brighten a cold winters day so we thought why not have a little fun as well!,” said George. “We’re looking forward to seeing visitors snapping their own, families and even friends, wellingtons amongst our fantastic snowdrops before they indulge in a spot of lunch or tea and cakes in our wonderful new Snowdrop Village,”

2013 is the first year that special weekend events will be taking place at Hodsock Priory they include, a ‘Beer and Bangers’ festival and food and country fairs.

Furthermore, a new play area and woodland cafe is unveiled in Horsepasture Wood and a delightful gift shop and plant sale is located in the Snowdrop Village. Visitors can also enjoy talks about the history of Hodsock, bird life at Hodsock and perhaps indulge in a craft activity details of which can be found by visiting www.hodsockpriory.com.

Other offers such as ‘Free Tea Tuesday’ vouchers and special day passes can be obtained by visiting the website.

The annual snowdrop spectacular will take place between 2nd February and 3rd March 2013 and further details regarding its weekend attractions can be found at www.snowdrops.co.uk.
