Securing our borders through upstream interventions

“Securing our borders through upstream interventions” Simon Cooper is the UK Border Agency’s Regional Assistant Director responsible for leading a command of Immigration Liaison Officers covering Europe, North Africa, Russia and the Middle East

PRLog - Feb. 1, 2013 - Simon Cooper will present a session on the approach that the UK is taking working with source and transit countries law enforcement and immigration agencies to disrupt the organised immigration crime groups who profit from illegally smuggling migrants across Europe. His presentation will look at approaches to gathering and developing information leading to taking action against document forgery factories, the flows of money and the travel agents facilitating these crimes.”

Executive Director of BORDERPOL, Thomas Tass said: We are delighted have UKBA’s Simon Cooper presenting at this year’ World Borderpol Congress in London. Promoting international agency co-operation forms a key element to the organization’s mission and mandate, so Simon’s presentation will be of great interest and form the catalyst for some very interesting discussion and debate.

The 2nd World Borderpol Congress will be held on the 3rd – 4th December 2013 at Central Hall Westminster, London, UK.
