Follow on Google News | Sunshine Terrace Fundraising Magic Show at USU Wednesday March 20thBy: The Hatch Academy of Magic and Music The performance will include classic feats of magic with opportunities for audience participation both onstage and in the comfort of the auditorium seats. Hatch has promised to perform "the most romantic card trick in the world", created by his good friend Axel Hecklau of Berlin, which received it's North American debut at the American West Heritage Center Valentine evening performance last month. This will be only the third time this feat has been demonstrated publicly in Utah. Both Hatch and Viator are donating their services for this event, as are all the students, so that all the funds raised will go to the Sunshine Terrace Scholarship Fund, which supports Sunshine Terrace staff in meeting educational goals that will enhance their service at Sunshine Terrace. The Sunshine Terrace Foundation is a non-profit organization that has been serving Cache Valley for sixty-five years, providing a continuum of care to its clients and residents. For more information on the Foundation, check out their website http://www.sunshineterrace.com or call them at (435) 752-0411. Tickets to the 7 p.m. Wednesday night performance are just $8 for non-students, just $5 for any students from elementary to graduate school! Tickets may be reserved in advance by calling or texting 435-554-8209. Performer's biographies: Magician Richard Hatch holds two graduate degrees in Physics from Yale University, but finds it easier apparently to violate the laws of nature than to discover them. A childhood interest in magic became a lifelong obsession after he met and was encouraged by the German magician Fredo Raxon in 1970. A full time professional “deceptionist” Magician Steven Viator is a student of USU and the Hatch Academy of Magic & Music. In the first annual Cache Valley Magic Competition held in October 2011, he was awarded third place, besting more experienced performers from Idaho and Salt Lake City. He is the founder and a past president of the USU Illusionists, a student organization dedicated to fostering an increased interest in the art of magic. End
