Jan. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- On January 11, 2013 a three judge panel from the Ninth Circuit heard arguments from the Producers and Carriers in a copyright infringement case. The ruling in this case (11-55497) will have significant ramifications which ever way it goes.

In 2010 Luvdarts LLC and DigiPie sued Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile for copyright infringement because the carriers designed and employed a closed system outside of the Internet that enabled their users to distribute Luvdart's and other's copyright protected content in a clandestine and untraceable manner without authorization or payment to the copyright holders while the carriers rake in billions of dollars from these activities.

The January 11th hearing in Pasadena, California pitted a sharp young attorney, Mr. Perrin F. Disner counsel for the producers/appellants, against “one of the USA’s foremost experts in copyright protection,” Mr. Bruce G. Joseph of Wiley Rien LLP, counsel for the carriers/appellees.

The ruling is forthcoming.
