Founded in 1988 and located in West Palm Beach, Around The Edge Unlimited has framed thousands of projects for a variety of prestigious collectors, auction houses, institutions and museums including: Palm Beach Modern Auctions, the Ann Norton Sculpture Garden, the Boca Raton Museum of Art, and the Norton Museum of Art.  In addition, Around The Edge Unlimited works closely with curators and art advisors on private collections in Florida, New York, and throughout the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Boston and Chicago.

With thousands of works complete, Solaas’ business continues to prosper with exclusive projects for  many of Palm Beach’s top galleries including: The Surovek Gallery, DTR Modern Galleries, and Select Fine Art, purveyors of museum quality 19th and early 20th century European and American paintings. In addition, Around The Edge Unlimited works closely with renowned interior designers: Lisa Erdmann, Jennifer Garrigues, Angela Reynolds, and Katherine Shenaman as well as Lake Placid Based antique dealer, Christopher English of Antediluvian. Also of significance are several works that have been installed on yachts and aircrafts around the world.

Says Solaas, “Our main showroom has an extensive selection of handmade, carved, and gilded samples, all of which that can be altered to create a new handmade design, specific for the project at hand.  The other rooms have 1000's "length" choices. Gold and silver, blacks, woods and whites, as well of an area with rainbow colored choices.” With two master framers who work intimately with Solaas, the firm’s craftsmen are able to match finishes that create the perfect marriage between paintings and frame that is consistent with style, artistic composition, and historical period. Adds Solaas, “Every job is different. Over the years styles change. We offer everything from 4-ply and 8-ply matting to hand wrapped fabric mats, with or without fillet. We hand create French matting in our studio using many different techniques. We even do shadow boxes, a particular favorite is one we did of a collection of antique Red Cross pins. We pride ourselves in staying current with new techniques and technologies and firmly believe that preserving our clients art is the most important aspect of our business, be it an original Picasso, or a child’s drawing.  We have framed everything from Sam Francis to Fancis Bacon, and some Picasso’s, Renoir’s, and Warhol’s just to name a few.”

In addition to framing, Around The Edge Unlimited has created a small gallery area where Solaas showcases local artists including: Matt Godwin, Gus Sauter, and Alessandra Gieffers.
