PRLog - Jan. 7, 2013 - The holidays in Los Angeles signifies an annual pilgrimage for thousands of fans, players, coaches and scouts from across the nation that flock to the ABA Basketball Games which is now being broadcast by UBC Sports on the UBC-TV Network . The nationally-renowned ABA League was founded in 1967 competing with the well-established National Basketball Association, until the ABA-NBA merger in 1976. The original ABA featured Julius "Dr. J" Erving, George Gervin, Spencer Haywood, Moses Malone and other legends. Four ABA teams were absorbed from the merger: the Brooklyn Nets, Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, and San Antonio Spurs. The new ABA league was started in 1999 and has plans now that it is televised, to compete with the talent level and visibility of the NBA.
On January 12th UBC Sports will broadcast the Undefeated Arizona Scorpions against the Los Angeles SLAM in a classic and historical event. Kareem Rush (Lakers), Tony Farmer (Golden State Warriors), Jeff Trepagnier (Denver Nuggets), Jauquin Hawkins (Houston Rockets), Joe Smith (LA Lakers) and Jerry Dupree (USC & AND1) will play in the game to entertain the crowd on hand. The events will be filled with some of today's top celebrities including Tony Burrell, head of Mayweather Productions & "Sugar" Shane Mosley, Actor/Comedian "Jamie Foxx", Pauletta Pearson Washington and many more. The game will be broadcast live through UBC's pay per view, On Demand and through various other cable outlets nationally. Half-time performance by Americas Best Dance Crew "Beat Freaks": The Beat Freaks is an all-female breaking dance crew from Los Angeles, California. Each of its nine members had achieved individual success dancing before the creation of the group in 2003. The Beat Freaks were featured on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew (Season 3) and finished the show as runners-up.
Hip Hop Artist Joe Smith, "Joe Beaso" will also perform at half-time.

On Saturday, December 8th, 2012 the Urban Broadcasting Company (UBC-TV), hit the air in a gala inaugural broadcast of the American Basketball Association (ABA), from Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ. The Jersey Express hosted the Connecticut TopBallerz at the network's launch, which included celebrity guests on hand to wish the new station well.
