- Jan. 3, 2013 -
(Encinitas, CA) The basketball team will be coached by Scott Mitchell. Coach Scott has played and coached professional basketball. He played high school basketball, football, baseball, and track in the San Francisco Bay Area, he then played his college basketball at De Anza College and the University of South Dakota. Coach Scott played professionally in Australia, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. His coaching career started in Argentina as the assistant coach of the Junior Olympic team. Transitioning to become the Head Coach at The Universidad Catolica De Chile in their Professional League, the team earned National Championships. Coach Scott was asked to put together the first Adidas Professional Team, traveling throughout Europe playing against various Olympic Teams. Recently Coach Scott has been working with High School AAU teams, helping to promote players into University Basketball programs. Coach Scott speaks several languages and still travels to do youth basketball clinics around the world.
"My goal is to score 100 points every game, I think most players want to have that kind of freedom to create. We want our players to feel comfortable taking shots in transition. I don't want to slow down and set up. We will have fun and play with confidence. We are looking for young men with the ability to do the academic work and comport themselves in a manner that will make their families and school proud of them on and off the court. We will build a program that will compete right away and schedule some D1 schools in the next few years. I'm available to answer your recruiting questions, and YES, we offer Basketball Scholarships!"
