The event was held last Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at the Plummer Auditorium. The recital is composed of different performances by each of the classes from both the primary and elementary levels. Childhood favorites like Brown Bear, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan were acted out and presented by the children. The event was very well enjoyed by not only the audience, but also by the children. The theme of children’s literature was handpicked by the school’s principal and founder, Dr. Sueling Chen. “Words are very powerful,” Chen said, “we are celebrating the magic of words and how they make every day special.” Every word has a meaning, and that is why people should be selective in the words they use. “Drama,” according to Chen, “is a great way for children to practice self-expression and to realize its value.” Arborland Montessori Children’s Academy first opened its doors in 1988 at Valencia Drive in Fullerton. The school started off with seven children in one classroom. After 25 fruitful years, Arborland has expanded to two Montessori campuses, with both primary and elementary levels, and the Academy of the Arts. The Winter Recital is an annual celebration that features the children’s wonderful talents, the themes vary with every year.
