Actually, a learning disability is actually a medically recognized neurological disorder that affects a person’s ability to understand or process written or spoken language. It shows itself in children who struggle with listening, speaking, writing, reading, spelling, or doing calculations. Depending on the type of learning disability a child has they will struggle in one or two areas of learning. No child will manifest difficulty in all areas of learning even when diagnosed with multiple learning disabilities.

Learning disabilities are not a result of a physical problem with impaired hearing or vision. They are also not a result of serious developmental problems such as mental retardation. Learning disabilities are also not a result of environment;
Most children with learning disabilities are of average or above average intelligence. Their disability is hidden as they appear to be bright and intelligent children. It is when skills are tested; that children with learning disabilities fall short of achieving tasks that are easy for other children their rage.
Learning disabilities cannot be cured. Most students with learning disabilities can learn alternative tragedies to learn the skills they need for academic success. Modifying and changing learning approaches for children with learning disabilities is required by law in public school. Parents many times need to be proactive to get their child the appropriate interventions and diagnosis from the school. Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) list learning disabilities as a condition that under federal law public school must accommodate.
