Unlock More Opportunities With Bluetooth Enabled MagicKey

Dec. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Los Angeles / Las Vegas (December 2012) – Today, the developers of MagicKey announce a new Bluetooth connectivity feature which gives MagicKey the ability to organize passwords largely ignored by other products.  The new MagicKey password management application automatically learns, secures, and manages usernames and passwords for web sites around the world.  And now, the only Bluetooth connected password manager gets even more connected.

The Challenge
There is one password category that other password managers avoid discussing: pre-boot passwords. The reason is because other password managers do not work until after the computer has booted, leaving them figuratively painted into a corner with pre-boot passwords. Pre-boot passwords include:  BIOS User passwords, BIOS Administrator passwords, TPM startup PINs, TPM startup keys, BitLocker Recovery passwords, BitLocker- fixed or removable data drives with protection passwords, Active Directory Recovery Passwords, and other hard drive encryption passwords.

If pre-boot passwords are temporarily unavailable or lost, access to the computer is denied, possibly permanently. The cloud-centric and PC-centric competitor products only offer manual management of these passwords if the computer is running without pre-boot learning, auto-filling or adaptation. Consequently, pre-boot passwords go largely unmanaged and are seldom if ever changed.

The Solution
MagicKey’s smartphone-centric design leverages Bluetooth to provide powerful protection capabilities and features that competitive products are unable to provide. The first release of the MagicKey password management app for Android will connect to computers during pre-boot stages using virtual Bluetooth keyboard and mouse technology integrated into the smartphone. MagicKey can learn existing pre-boot passwords, categorize and store the passwords, automatically enter the passwords when needed, and assists in changing these passwords.
