It is not the first time for the train to get international acclamation. The Maharajas’ Express has got two most prestigious travel awards in the past. The train was announced the 1st runner up in the ‘Readers’ Choice Award’ for Conde Nast Traveler in 2011 and also got the CNBC Travel’s ‘Best Luxury Train’ award in 2012.
The Maharajas’ Express was introduced in the year 2010 by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation in association with Indian Railways; the sole motive behind the launch of the luxury train is to offer the globetrotters a travel mode which can be luxurious, convenient and is at par with the international standards of hospitality at the same time.
This year the train has introduced 5 new journeys – Gems of India, Treasures of Indian, Indian Panorama, Indian Splendour and Heritage of India. To match the needs of the diverse travelers, these journeys are cataloged into two categories – two short term Golden-Triangle tours of 3 nights and 4 days, and three pan-Indian journeys of 7 nights and 8 days.
With avant-garde amenities, international hospitality standards, intricately tailored itineraries and well-appointed cabin cars, the Maharajas’ Express rightly deserved to be called the finest luxury tourist train in the world. There is no surprise that the train bag packed three celebrated global travel awards in just three years of its journey. For more information logon: http://www.themaharajasexpressindia.com
