PRLog - Dec. 12, 2012 - CEDAR HILLS – December 12, 2012 Today online, the NuFun Games division of Peepsock Press, LLC announced the creation of a new online product line of games based off of the successful game “Tangram Fury” which NuFun Games launched last fall. This new product line is a series of online puzzles dubbed the "Daily Tangram.”

With the creation of the Daily Tangram, NuFun Games increases the accessibility of tangram puzzles to a broader audience. While the Daily Tangram is copyrighted intellectual property, initially the online puzzles will be made available for free access and download.
"The largest hurdle for tangram enthusiasts is access to new or challenging images or puzzles. Even though tangrams are an ancient Chinese puzzle, they're still new to many people," Doug Nufer, founder and inventor of Tangram Fury, said.
"Tangrams have great potential," Nufer continued. "They're educational - and used in many public schools and home schools. They're used for everything from illustrating geometry to helping kids develop their spatial reasoning skills, much like the popular Tetris games."
"But, more than that, they're fun," he continued. "I sometimes don't mention the educational aspect of them because that word 'educational' turns some people off. If they can sit down and play with them a bit, they learn for themselves how intriguing the puzzle making can be. I've found that when introducing my game to people if I tell them about it, about 20-40% of the time they find it interesting. But, if I have them pick up the pieces and actually fiddle with the game, they buy into it over 90% of the time. This is even with those who say things like, 'Oh, I hate puzzles. Don't make me do this.' But, they quickly find out that it's not so much solving puzzles as it is exploring possibilities and fiddling around. It really is a hands-on experience."
The Daily Tangram each provides a new, silhouetted puzzle to solve. There is also a Tangram Grid on which to draw the solution, as well as the seven tans, or shapes, that should be used in making the image. Listed on the tans is the number of spaces each tan should take on the Tangram Grid.
A hint will be provided for solving each Daily Tangram. The hints invoke a code identifying which corner of a specific tan should be positioned on a specific point on the Tangram Grid. Clarification of the coded hint will be provided on the http://www.TangramFury.com website.
NuFun Games indicated that it is hoped that the Daily Tangram picks up in popularity and is eventually carried in newspapers, much as crossword, Sudoku or other brainteaser puzzles are currently carried. Tangram enthusiasts can either solve the puzzles by printing out the Tangram Grid and drawing on it, or by using tangrams they have created on their own, or purchased on the Tangram Fury website.
NuFun Games has provided several free, educational videos about tangrams, including one that teaches how to create a tangram puzzle whose pieces can be used to solve the Daily Tangram. These videos are available for free viewing or download on the video section of the website at http://www.tangramfury.com/
Peepsock Press, LLC. was founded in 2003 as an assisted-publication service provider. Peepsock Press' goal is to assist new authors with getting their works into publication. Peepsock Press believes that many new authors are denied the opportunity to share their great works with the world merely because they have not yet been able to make a name for themselves. With the creation of NuFun Games, Peepsock Press seeks to provide family-friendly and competitive games to a broad market.
