FBC Sterling Collaborates with Outside the Walls Ministry-Gainesville to Collect Toys 4 Tots

First Baptist Church of Sterling collaborates with Outside the Walls Ministry-Gainesville to collect Toys 4 Tots and distribute to children this holiday season.

Dec. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Sterling, VA – First Baptist Church of Sterling, (“FBCS”) where everybody is somebody, has collaborated again with Outside the Walls Ministry-Gainesville (“OTWMG”) for collecting Toys 4 Tots and distributing them to families in the community and to those who register with either organization.  Toys 4 Tots, is a program created by the US Marine Corps, and provides a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children who might otherwise not have anything to open on Christmas morning.  FBCS will have collection boxes inside the church vestibule to collect new unwrapped toys for children.

In a continuing effort to utilize online resources, FBCS is providing online registration for families wishing to register their children to receive toys from the program through their website.  The campaign has been running since November 1 and will continue through December 14, 2012 with toy distribution taking place on December 15, 2012 at the church.

Noted FBCS pastor Bishop Leslie Patterson, Jr., “we all know the holidays can prove to be overwhelming and stressful when you have more than enough resources and that means food, money, and shelter.  To the person who is struggling, the holidays are an even tougher time to deal with all that may be occurring in their lives.  FBCS felt that OTWMG was the perfect partner to illustrate our mission that everybody is somebody, and to that end we are proud to be working with their team.”
