New York, New York - Thursday, December 6, 6-8PM - A Purpose for Art and MCCNY present a special event for the season: Holiday Art Show , a group exhibit, showing Thursday, December 6 to January 21, 2013 with an opening reception on Thursday, December 6, 6-8PM in the Jackson Hall Gallery of MCCNY at 446 W. 36th Street in Midtown Manhattan.
Jackson Hall Gallery has been hosting art exhibits for several years to raise money for their various outreach programs. When A Purpose for Art founder Anthony Matulis first attended one of these shows he was greatly impressed with the talent and enthusiasm surrounding it. "I had just moved to New York when I came to my first show here (at Jackson Hall Gallery) and it turned out to be a true New York experience for me…lots of great artists supporting a great cause at a fun exhibit." A few years later he is proud to continue the tradition of supporting and promoting local artists in its annual Holiday Art Show, which promises to be an amazing display of visual art.
This year's cast of artist stars include Allison Putnam, Angel Collie, Bernardo Navarro, Chris D'Acunto, Daniel Speaks, Diana Divine Williams, Holly Suzanne, JAVA, Janet Restino, Julia Rivera, Lizzy Atlas, Mac Llakut, Markus Bradley, Miss Ellie, Raj Autencio, Tim Wearne, Tracy Von-Becker Legge & Zofia Bogusz. The artists in this show are extremely passionate about their work and eager to share it so it is highly recommended to all guests to submerse themselves in the experience and have fun. All mediums and styles are well represented in this exhibit with ranges in size and price for all collectors.
MCCNY was established in New York in 1972 and its Pastor, Rev. Pat Bumgardner, has served as Senior pastor for 24 years. Today, the church has an active congregation of over 500 members and supports a number of ministries to the poor, hungry and homeless, both locally and globally. Suggested donations for the art in this show are tax deductible and benefit the various outreach programs of MCCNY.
A Purpose for Art was founded in 2011 and strives to simultaneously support and promote both local artists and charities. Its motto is "Everybody can win."
