Dirty South TV to be first 100% power-grid free music and news television network

Dirty South TV and Liz Lee Media are joining forces to be 100% power-grid free. After experiencing constant "power-bill games" by Georgia Power, DSTV and Liz Lee Media have decided to be 100% power-grid free in their new location in Marianna, Florida

Dec. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Dirty South TV and sister company Liz Lee Media are embracing a life of self-sufficiency and sustainability in their new home on ten acres in Marianna, Florida. Inspired by pioneers in the grid-free movement, they have chosen to forego grid power completely, opting for power generated by the unlimited sources of wind and sun. President and CEO of Dirty South TV, Giuseppe Colato, explains, "This is nothing new, and certainly not due to any recent trends--this is something I have been very interested in since I was a little boy in Pembroke Pines Elementary School in Pembroke Pines, Florida when I won an award at the school's science fair for my solar hot water board that I made. I have always been fascinated with wind mills, water mills and the unequaled power of the sun."

After experiencing what Giuseppe describes as "the worst economy in any of our lifetimes," just when Dirty South TV was exploding with growth and popularity, it frustrated him deeply that Georgia Power was constantly "playing games with the power bills". Rate hikes plagued many Georgia citizens in 2011, and Dirty South TV--hugely reliant on grid power during that time, had no choice but to endure it. "I had their number from the very first instance--did they think we were just going to tolerate it and not notice it? The last straw was when, under the weight of an insurmountably high power bill, our power was cut off right before we were to go on the air with one of our live TV shows on October 27th, 2011 (The TMI Show-Featuring Justin Berkey). I ran two jumbo extension cords from both sides of our studio and split the load evenly and the show went off without a hitch. I also had our van on stand-by with an additional line from an on-board power inverter--just in case."

That experience with the "Big Power Company" left such a bad taste in his mouth that he and Liz Lee vowed that night that they would become grid free as soon as they could. That time is now.

"We have done all the research--nine months of it to be exact--and we know exactly what we need to get started, and what to add when we can to bolster our system from the savings of no monthly power bill ever again. The issue we are faced with is the still worsening state of our economy here in The United States. No matter what the politicians tell you--things are in no way, shape or form better now than they have been for the past six or more years. We have come to the conclusion that we need a little help getting started, and once we are up and running we will be able to add more power by using the money that would be going to a power bill," Giuseppe explains.

Lighting Energy Depot out of Roswell, Georgia is pitching in to help by sending DSTV and Liz Lee Media a complete solar hot-water system, even personally bringing it down and installing it for them. Many people do not know, realize or remember that a large chunk of their power bill goes to heating water.

Dirty South TV is now reaching out for help to become grid free as soon as possible so they they can return to the business of connecting the best artists and bands to their viewers. "We are asking for all of the artists, bands, musicians, record labels, music venues and music instrument stores that we have helped in the past to each pitch in by sending just ten dollars. If music fans wish to help out, we will be happy to have the extra boost to help us lead the music industry once again in technology. We know of no other legitimate music television network or news network that is 100% power-grid free."

Liz Lee of Liz Lee Media is particularly excited about giving up the grid. "We believe that there is a better world waiting for us--a world in which we are not dependent on oil to fuel our lives. A world where we use the endless power available to us just waiting to be harnessed. We want to pave the way for those who are also discouraged by 'the way things are.' We feel a deep calling to move into this new paradigm without hesitation."

Some of the technology that they will be using consists of the following:
Missouri Wind and Solar Wind Generator: Missouri Super Dual General Wind Turbine Generator

Missouri Wind and Solar Charge Controller: All In One Charge Controller Board (We already have a couple of inverters that we can use for a little while)

Batteries: Trojan T-105's are what we might go with (There are two other Trojan models they are also researching).

If they raise above their target amount, they will get one or two of these to go with two small motors that we already have: (You can never have too much power, and we can make two tail fins with tail arms) 11 G4 Raptor Blades and Hub

They will also add Lighting Energy Depot Solar Panels in 2013 for added daytime power buildup.
