Jim Johanson was recently a featured speaker at the Washington State Residential Care Council fall conference in October of 2012. Attorney Johanson educated the audience on the do’s and don’ts of administrative hearings with regards to adult family homes.

The Washington State Residential Care Council of Adult Family Homes (WSRCC) strives to improve the lives and wellbeing of the elderly and vulnerable adults by supporting adult family homes. The organization proudly represents thousands of homes in communities all throughout Washington State, thus caring for over 19,000 seniors and adults with disabilities.

The WSRCC was first formed in 1995 with the objective to conduct training as well as continuing education for both providers and their employees. The WSRCC aims to provide legislative and regulatory advocacy for its members in the long-term care industry, and the organization serves as a resource for consumers who wish to research and find the most suitable long-term situation for their loved one.

An adult family home is otherwise known as a long term care facility. It is a residential home that is licensed to care for up to six adults that are not related by blood or marriage to the individuals caring for them. The AFH provides seniors with a room, meals, laundry service, supervision, personal care, and assistance with everyday living activities.

The WSRCC refers adult family home providers and caregivers to attorney Johanson in order to provide them with advice on a broad range of issues from administrative law hearings to contracts, to compliance issues.
