About the Author:
James Holden-White lives in Bicester, England where he works as a policeman.
Excerpt from the book:
“They have even seen to it to steal the ravens from the Tower of London in the hopes that a legend will act in their favour and that the country would fall meekly and easily to them, such was their superstition, yet it is legends who have returned to stall them… Here before you, Sir, before you all, are two great defenders of our Isle, Sir Francis Drake, and… King Arthur.”
As each was announced audible gasps again filled the chamber, and the camera flashes lit the room in a frenzy. Julian Finch once again held up his hand for silence as he demanded order, for the press and Councillors within the chamber, and the throng in the public gallery above, had broken out in a clamour at the incredible revelation. In every language shouts of disbelief had broken out, yet also gasps of awe and astonishment.
“This was a plot which could so nearly have succeeded, such was their cowardly stealth and abuse of position,” Julian continued as he shouted over the background murmurs. “Yet it has been for this moment that King Arthur, the once and future King, has been resting all these years, and now he has come back to fulfil his legend. For this moment that Sir Francis Drake, who once helped vanquish an invasion fleet, has returned to vanquish this new threat to our freedom just as he saw off that threat of our enemies of old. Oh, it’s true that neither acted alone in their heroics, but both epitomise the spirit of our Island Nation and they shall not be moved. I don’t know how you thought you’d get away with it.” He turned to the Commissioners. “I don’t know how you can hope to stand against them.”
