"Iron Chef" from Italy Presents Cooking Demo/Dinner at Water's Edge Resort & Spa

Nov. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Westbrook, CT  Food lovers will be treated to one of the year’s most exciting culinary events on the Connecticut shoreline when acclaimed Italian Chef Vincenzo (Enzo) Cannata presents “Taste of Calabria,” Saturday,  December 1, at the Water’s Edge Resort & Spa, 1525 Boston Post Road, Westbrook.

One of Italy’s four “Iron Chefs,” Enzo will offer a cooking demo and a special six-course Calabrese dinner/wine pairing extravaganza. Open to the public, the special event costs $99 per couple and will begin at 7 PM. Chef Enzo’s innovative, signature Calabrese creations will seduce the palate.

Chef Enzo is considered to be an expert on the cuisine and wine of his native Calabria region. He earned a master’s degree in culinary arts from the school of the Institute of Alberghiero Calabria Nicotera. He has had a distinguished career as an executive chef for leading dining venues in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and France. He is fluent in the Italian, French and German languages.

The idea for the food demo and dinner came about after the Water’s Edge invited Chef Enzo to be a guest of the hotel. “Taste of Calabria” will be the highlight of his three-week visit to the beachfront resort starting November 22. Other specialties of the celebrated will be featured on the Water’s Edge restaurant during his stay.
