New Prostate Cancer Knowledge Centre launched for Healthcare Professionals

Nov. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- October 2012, Royal Tunbridge Wells, EPG Health Media has announced the launch of it’s latest interactive educational resource for healthcare professionals - the Prostate Cancer Knowledge Centre. This resource, which has been sponsored by Astellas Pharma Europe Ltd, is designed to provide general practitioners, oncologists, urologists and other healthcare professionals with access to the latest information in the area of prostate cancer. The Knowledge Centre can be accessed via the Oncology, Men’s Health and Internal Medicine sections of EPG Online (www.epgonline.org), a website providing free educational content for healthcare professionals.
Over 385,500 new cases of prostate cancer were diagnosed in 2008,¹ making it the most frequently diagnosed cancer in European men, with the exception of skin cancers.² Therefore prostate cancer represents a major cause of morbidity, especially in the developed world. The site will provide information on both hormone-sensitive and castrate-resistant prostate cancer, detailing current screening and detection methods, and the recommended treatment options available for individual patients.
