Jan. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Featuring all 316L and Inconel X750 material, the AST5300 is suitable for various liquids and gases requiring high line pressure (1,500 PSI) and low differential pressure (10 PSID) measurements.

One of the biggest benefits to the AST5300 differential pressure transducer is that the sensor is completely free of fluid fill cavities.  Through the use of an LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) and corrugated diaphragm, the AST5300 measures differential pressure without any oil-filled capsules, thus eliminating potential risk of leaks of silicone oil into the process fluid or gas.  Applications such as cryogenic level, pharmaceutical processing equipment and gas compression systems all benefit from an oil-free design.  For high purity gases and oxygen pressure applications, AST can sell the AST5300 cleaned and packaged to meet the Praxair GS-38 standard.

The DP can also have full line pressure of 1,500 PSI applied to either process connection without damage to the transducer.  This can eliminate the added cost of certain five-way valves and expensive repair costs.

Standard options include 1/4" NPT female process connections, 4-20mA, 0.5-4.5V ratiometric, 0-5V, and 1-5V output signals, and conduit electrical connections.  Class I, II and III Explosion proof (AST53ED) and Class I Division 2 non-incendive approvals (AST53EN) allow for safe installation in hazardous locations.  For non-hazardous locations, connectors and cable are available.
