Follow on Google News | Pakistani American Conference Kicks Off Saturday, November 10th in Los Angeles!The first annual Pakistani American Youth and Young Professionals Conference is officially in session. The conference aims to engage the youth by giving them an opportunity to discuss crucial issues in the community, network and get inspired.
By: Ru Entertainment, YoungMALAC Registration begins at 10 am with the Inaugural Reception beginning at 11 am. The sessions throughout the day include: Exploring the Pakistani American Identity and Community Relations, Taping into one's Potential Workshop, and Civic Empowerment. Breakout Sessions will be included for attendees to engage and ask panelists questions. Sessions included are: Law Enforcement, Community Leaders in Public Service, Advancing in Entrepreneurship with Innovation and Pakistani Americans in Entertainment and Hollywood. Participants will get the chance to hear from top leaders in the community, including such as: Consul General for Pakistan in Los Angeles Riffat Masood, Hollywood TV Comedy Writer Sameer Asad Gardezi (Modern Family, Outsourced, Minds of Mencia), The Honorable Sheriff Leroy Baca, Atif Moon Co-founder and Inspiration behind the Center for Global Understanding, Omar M. Mahmood (national advisor to the Muslim Youth of North America), Producer Tariq Jalil, (Marmaduke), VFX Artist Mir Zafar Ali (The Day After Tomorrow, XMen, Spiderman 3, Incredible Hulk), Host and Personality Samia Khan (khanversations.com) The evening dinner reception will include an inspirational speech from Key Note Speaker Female Olympic Weightlifter, Kulsoom Abdullah. Conference participants will also get an opportunity to network with top Pakistani American leaders working in various career fields and learn from them. For those interested in internships or looking at a career change, there will be various opportunities to connect with individuals and resources in the community. The night will be capped off with a live performance and concert starting at 9 pm with house and dub-step blends of East and West music by DJ mcxa2 of Public Jones, following up with local "youthful" band NASAAL, and wrapping up the evening with headlining Canadian band JoSH! JoSH includes a vast fan base both locally and internationally.
