IJIS Institute Announces New Associate Program for Government, Academic, and Non-profit Employees

Nov. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- The IJIS Institute (http://www.ijis.org/), a nonprofit organization that focuses on mission-critical information sharing for justice, public safety, and homeland security, announces the creation of a new Associate Program. For the first time, government, academic, and non-profit employees, who are interested in information sharing technology and standards, are invited to join the IJIS Institute in the role of an Associate and to work alongside their industry counterparts.

Steve Ambrosini, (http://www.ijis.org/bios/ambrosini.html) executive director of the IJIS Institute, was gratified that the Institute’s Board of Directors approved the new Associate Program. Ambrosini said, “The formation of the new program will be an affirmative step toward further unifying industry’s partnerships with the government, academic and non-profit organizations that are engaged in the national information sharing mission.” He sees this as a positive development for the Institute and its membership of leading technology and IT service providers.

“It’s an excellent opportunity for government, academic, and non-profit employees to increase and enhance the benefits of their engagement with the Institute in national information sharing standards and technology initiatives,” Dave Usery (http://www.ijis.org/bios/usery.html), chair of the IJIS Institute Board said. He noted that Associates would be able to network with industry leaders and colleagues, obtain reduced registration fees for IJIS Institute events, and receive updates and news on information sharing and national standards impacting their work, among others.

To join the Associate Program, a no-fee promotion will run until June 30, 2013, at which time the annual fee for new IJIS Institute Associates will become $95.
