Eskenzi Scoops 2012 Most Rated PR Agency Award by PR Week as Voted by the Journalists

Nov. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- London, UK -- It’s official - Eskenzi PR has been voted the number 2 tech agency in Britain by the journalist community in the 2012 Most Rated PR Agency awards by PR Week.  Eskenzi has also come out as the fourth most rated agency across all sectors as judged by 1400 journalists.

PR Week consulted 1,400 technology journalists including print, broadcast and online media from the national, regional and specialist titles and asked the press to rank the agencies in four main areas: friendliness, accessibility, quality of stories pitched and quality of briefings.

Out of the thousands of PR agencies in the UK, Eskenzi also came fourth from all sectors including healthcare and business.

Yvonne Eskenzi said “We are very grateful to all the journalists who voted for us as the most rated agency and it has got to be the best accolade of them all, after all we’re nothing without the trust and support of the journalists.   We are delighted we’ve beaten all the big boys and it’s interesting to note that the three winners in this new award were all small companies with a dozen or so clients, which shows that the boutique approach to PR works.”

It’s the first time these awards have taken place and all stemmed from an idea that Claire Murphy, the editor of PR Week, had when talking to the head of comms for a major multinational, who felt it would be useful to know how the press viewed the agency community.

The award was judged on a number of categories including: “Quality of Stories pitched”, which is arguably the PR agency’s ultimate value to a journalist – i.e. do they deliver decent stories. Eskenzi came out in the top trio of boutique tech agencies – none of the big agencies came out on top here.

Eskenzi also came out on top for “Quality of briefings” – how good agencies are at providing journalists with background briefings on their clients.  The feedback from the press was that the journalists appreciate the high quality of the background information and deep understanding they receive from Eskenzi employees.  As quoted “They seem to be close to their clients and work extremely hard for them.”  

Another category is “Accessibility” – and was judged on which agencies journalists rely on to return calls promptly.  Thankfully, Eskenzi scored top marks here too - journalists value the fact that Eskenzi returned calls and emails in time for their deadlines.

On “friendliness” Eskenzi scored fifth, which means that Eskenzi is better liked than all those other hundreds of other PR agencies!

The journalists also commented on individuals that they work with at the agency and had the following to say:   “Yvonne Eskenzi is the matriarch of technology PR, what Yvonne doesn’t know about PR or her security clients cannot be categorised.  Always such a pleasant person to talk to!  A very good PR agent.”

Neil Stinchcombe was described as being “Always quick off the mark and helpful.  A man with a drive for excellence in PR.  Neil is no shrinking violet and his determination in ensuring his clients are at the top of the agenda is excellent.”

The journalists described Darshna Kamani as “Such a nice person to deal with who has a ‘non-pushy’ manner and her work with Imperva is exemplary.”  

Eskenzi mainly specialises in IT security clients and has been promoting events such as Infosecurity Europe for 17 years. The team has been also been involved in many successful IPOs and acquisitions, clients who have been acquired include Pointsec by Check Point, Fortify by HP, and on the IPO front, Imperva was one of the most successful on NASDAQ in 2011.
