The season is eight-games plus a "Super Bowl" on February 9. Games will be played at Peppertree Park in Newbury Park on Saturdays between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The league is divided into four divisions: kindergarten and first grade, second and third grades, fourth and fifth grades and sixth through eighth grades.
"Kids learn football rules and skills," says Katie Beck, executive director at the Miller Y. "It's semi-competitive but it's especially designed for younger players new to the sport. It focuses on football education, participation, sportsmanship, and most of all, fun."
The Y is also looking for coaches.
The cost per player is $140 ($160 for non-YMCA members) and includes a uniform (jersey, shorts and flags). To register, contact the Y at 805-480-0309 or email Katie Beck at kbeck@millerymca.org. The Miller YMCA serves residents throughout Newbury Park.
