Green and fellow duck hunters get a chance to gather around and swap stories. They're also helping fund something they're passionate about.
"Salt Lake is a big duck hunting area," said Green, the SLC DU chapter treasurer. "We have a lot of local people that duck hunt and lot who come from other areas. It's really important that we give back."
Ducks Unlimited, founded in 1937, is the world's largest organization dedicated to waterfowl and wetlands conservation. The organization is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
The Salt Lake City Chapter of DU's banquet is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Rio Tinto Stadium. It begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour before dinner is served at 7 p.m. Individual tickets are $75 — that includes a one-year membership to DU and a year's subscription to DU Magazine — and are available online at www.ducks.org/
The DU fundraising event features a BBQ dinner and live and silent auctions that include items such as waterfowl artwork, MudBuddy motors, Camp Chef products, hunting gear and shotguns.
