Young Leadership Division Major Community Fundraiser Set for Nov. 17

(Irvine, September 20, 2012)  More than 300 Orange County Jews ages 25 to 45 will bring the full force of their philanthropic spirit together at “Ignite (http://www.jewishorangecounty.org/section.aspx?id=132),” the annual fundraising philanthro-party sponsored by the Young Leadership Division (YLD) of Jewish Federation & Family Services.  Ignite is expected to raise $30,000 at the event and up to $70,000 through a car opportunity drawing. All funds raised will support the Generations Funds (annual campaign) of Jewish Federation & Family Services.

In 2011 Federation JFFS provided critical support for over 3,600 people in need in, many in crisis situations that threatened their safety, health and ability to provide for their families. Last year JFFS provided over $1,506,212 in support of social service grants and programs. Of that, $389,810 was distributed as financial assistance to 706 people in financial distress, enabling them to maintain their housing, put food on their table, secure in-home caregiving, purchase life-saving medications and more.

Highlights of the Ignite event, which will take place at the sleek Celebrations by Turnip Rose venue in Costa Mesa, include silent and live auctions and an opportunity drawing for a new car (http://www.jewishorangecounty.org/car).  The Sklar Brothers, hosts of the History Channel’s “United Stats of America” and creators and stars of ESPN’s cult hit series, “Cheap Seats,” will MC and entertain.  Dancing will continue into the night at an after-hours party with live music by Israel’s acclaimed Moshav Band. A hosted bar will last until midnight.

YLD offers young Jewish singles and couples in Orange County social, networking, educational, volunteer, philanthropic and leadership development opportunities that empower them to become actively involved in the Orange County Jewish community.  The group runs a diverse range of hands-on, community service programs through which participants provide assistance to individuals and families in need.  Last year, the group raised $220,000.

Tickets are $50 per person or $500 per table of 10 with two bottles of champagne.  For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.JewishOrangeCounty.org/Ignite
