PNC became attracted to the Heritage Calendar project after learning about AT&T’s partnership with the N.C. Department of Public Instruction (DPI), which developed lesson plans and other interactive materials based on the historical contributions of each honoree. The AT&T Heritage Calendar combines the ideas of diversity and education, two areas directly aligning with PNC’s signature philanthropic efforts and corporate values. The local organization that will receive the PNC grant also has similar objectives, working to give every child a fair chance at proper education. QUOTES: “AT&T and the Department of Public Instruction share in our commitment to diversity and inclusion” said Paula Fryland, regional president for PNC, Eastern Carolinas Region. “The recipient of our $10,000 grant will use these resources to continue to improve the education and lives of children throughout the state of North Carolina.” “We are very pleased to be collaborating with PNC for our inaugural Heritage Calendar gala,” said Cynthia Marshall, president of AT&T North Carolina. “The company’s beliefs reflect our own regarding ensuring multicultural diversity and community impact. and we are overjoyed PNC has chosen to become involved by making a very generous donation to a local, education-based organization at the event.” DETAILS: -To reserve tickets, at no cost, for the inaugural gala, email rsvp@ncheritagecalendar.com or call (919) 835-1546.
