Visiting Angels “Alzheimer's Caregiver Project” classes start in Casselberry Florida

Oct. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Visiting Angels Homecare has partnered with Arden Courts Memory Care Community, Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, and Compass Research. This partnership allows the “Alzheimer’s Caregiver Project” classes to be available at no cost to any Alzheimer’s or other related dementia caregiver in the community.

The “Alzheimer’s Caregiver Project” is a series of six classes addressing the unique issues of caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. The classes are once a month for six months and this series is starting October 23rd, 2012 at the Seminole County Public Library System, Jean Rhein Central Branch, 215 N. Oxford Rd., Casselberry, FL 32707.

The classes are modeled in order of what a caregiver will go through once their loved one is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other related dementias. Professionals in each field will be presenting the following classes: Understanding Alzheimer's Disease, Legal and Financial Matters, Effective Communications, Surviving Challenging Behaviors, Medications/Research, and Choices of Care(community resources).
