PRLog -- Government leaders and emergency planners have recognized for some time that the United States is vulnerable to an electromagnetic pulse that could result from an attack from one of our enemies or as a result of a natural occurrence. Late last month news about the testimony of the Director of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Infrastructure Threat and Risk Analysis Center, Brandon Wales brought the issues around the threat of electromagnetic pulse or EMP to the nation’s attention. In the Director’s testimony he admitted that DHS remains unprepared for the possibility of an EMP event or attack. Many business continuity planners, corporate security personnel, emergency managers and even members of state and local government do not understand the threat an EMP poses. The consequences of an EMP destroying our electrical grid are both far-reaching and long lasting. Are you prepared?
