Oct. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA – Elisabeth Howard from Los Angeles, CA was crowned Ms. Senior America today at Harrah’s Resort Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.  She represented California as Ms. Senior California and competed against 34 contestants from around the United States.  During the three day competition, contestants were judged in interview, evening gown and talent as well as reciting their philosophy of life.  

As 2012 Ms. Senior America, Howard will travel around the country representing the American woman 60 years of age and over who has reached the “Age of Elegance”. The Ms. Senior America Pageant is the world's first and foremost pageant to emphasize and give honor to women who have reached the "Age of Elegance."  It is a search for the gracious lady who best exemplifies the dignity, maturity and inner beauty of all senior Americans. The Ms. Senior America philosophy is based upon the belief that seniors are the foundation of America, and our most valuable treasure.  It is upon their knowledge, experience and resources that the younger generation has the opportunity to build a better society.

Ms. Howard is a graduate of the Juilliard School with a B.S. and M.S. in voice. She is on the vocal faculty of Pepperdine University and is the founder and director of the highly respected Vocal Power Academy in Los Angeles, established in 1980, with a network of teachers teaching the Elisabeth Howard Vocal Power Singing Method. Clients have appeared on American Idol, Star Search, TV series, film and recording, Broadway, Off-Broadway and National Tours.   Ms. Howard has performed and taught all over the world as well as presented workshops and master classes in eleven countries and thirty-six cities.

Among some of the distinguished artists Ms. Howard has worked with are Sting, The Police, Paige O’Hara, voice of Belle in the film Beauty and the Beast, and Maxine Nightingale (“Lead Me On”), Priscilla Presley, Tony Danza, Traci Lords, and Stephen Dorff.  

First runner up went to Ms. Senior South Carolina Laura McFayden; second runner up was Ms. Senior Texas Lillie Madison; third runner up was Ms. Senior Utah Boni Losee and fourth runner up went to Ms. Senior New Jersey Carol Dugan.  
 
Pamela Wheeler won the title of Ms. Senior California in 2010 and is the CEO of the Ms. Senior California of America, Inc. 501(c)3 organization; she was on hand at the pageant to watch Howard take the Ms. Senior America title.  “We are so excited to see Elisabeth win the crown; she is an extremely talented woman who has a heart for helping others achieve their dreams,” says Wheeler.  For her talent portion, Howard sang “Sempre Libera” from “La Traviata”.

Ms. Senior California of America, Inc. was established as a non-profit corporation in 2010 and is affiliated with Ms. Senior America, Inc., founded in 1971.
