The Terraces of Boise Celebrates Community Milestone

Excitement Builds for Future Residents Dave and Peggy Currie As Construction of Their New Home Nears

Oct. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- BOISE, Idaho: For future residents Dave and Peggy Currie, a groundbreaking ceremony for The Terraces of Boise means a chance to witness the vision for their new retirement lifestyle unfold as they look toward their future at the planned Life Care retirement community. The Curries are just two of many older adults around the area who are looking forward to starting their lives at the newest senior living community in Boise.

The ceremony is for invited guests and will start at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, at the future site of The Terraces of Boise, located at East Warm Springs Avenue and South Council Spring Road. The Curries will be joined by ABHOW Chief Governance Officer Randall Stamper, Mayor David Bieter, members of the community’s advisory board and more than 100 of their future neighbors.

“It’s an exciting time for future residents of The Terraces,” said Campbell Palfrey, Marketing Director for The Terraces. “What we’re bringing to Boise will meet their demands now and in the future so they can continue living an active and engaging lifestyle.”

The $68 million community will be managed by ABHOW, an experienced provider that has been serving seniors since 1949. The community will offer 150 maintenance-free, residential living residences, in addition to 40 assisted living, 24 memory support and 48 skilled nursing residences on campus. The Terraces of Boise will be situated on 12 acres and will retain notable landmarks from its days as an operating cattle ranch and lumber mill.

The Terraces will offer a variety of services and amenities, including a fitness center, bistro, library, lifelong learning opportunities, security system and transportation services. In addition, residents will have peace of mind knowing they have priority access to a full continuum of on-site health care services.

“Dave and I will still have all the things we’re used to when we move to The Terraces , but without the stress of everyday housework and cleaning,” said Peggy Currie. “We’re looking forward to being active adults in an adult community.”
