WRG Creative Communication (WRG) has been awarded the new global sustainability standard for the events industry, ISO 20121. The award winning business, which, is already ISO 9001 approved, provides creative live communication services globally and is one of the first UK companies to be certified to the new international sustainability standard.
ISO 20121 sets out the building blocks of a sustainability management system that helps the business to act in a socially responsible manner, reducing its environmental impact in both day-to-day business as well as on the many projects it designs and manages for its clients.
WRG’s Chairman, Mark Wallace said, “Clients are now demanding strong environmental credentials of their agencies, that match their own corporate and social responsibility programs.
The team at WRG has worked hard in the past 18 months, with guidance from consultants, Sustainable Balance. To be one of the first to achieve the new international standard is heartening news and means a great deal to us.
We recognise that events and exhibitions have a massive impact on the environment and the awarding of this new standard will help us maintain our leadership in fighting this impact on society. As WRG continues to grow, understanding and managing these impacts is a strategic priority for our customers and our business.”
The news comes on the back of its recent purchase of rival event company Canyon which further bolstered its creative offering.
WRG is headquartered in Salford with offices in London, Doha and New York working with many major corporations including Governments and AMEX.
