The public school that the seven year old pupil attended placed the boy in a special-needs class at the public school. The boy’s mother also enrolled him at one of the Math Genie schools in order to attend the abacus math lessons as part of the math program for kids taught at the Math Genie School".

"Over an extended period of time the experienced private math tutors at the Math Genie School were able to train and educate the young boy back into normal interactions with kids of his own age as well as with adults. The boy began talking to others and interacting normally with our students and teachers. After the young boy had been attending all the respective classes at the school he was moved into a mainstream classroom at his public school because he had improved so much in his studies and had gained so much self confidence as a result of his continuous improved success that he was eventually able to function and participate at his public school at the fourth-grade level while he was still in the second grade".
