Buck Lattimore new Director of Legislative Affairs for the North Carolina Chiropractic Association

Lattimore has four decades of top leadership experience in business and government. As Chairman and Commissioner of the NC Industrial Commission from 2000-2009, he developed and managed an $8 million budget, directed the Commission's legislative agenda and supervised the agency’s 155 employees.  As the agency’s chief judicial officer he heard literally hundreds of workers’ compensation claims on appeal and issued opinions and orders in the contested cases impacting injured workers, employers and insurer.

Lattimore  has also served as a Deputy Commissioner of Insurance, the Assistant Operations Chief for a state-federal health care cost containment program, and an organizational effectiveness planner for the NC Department of Commerce.  

In the private sector, Lattimore was vice president of George Shinn & Associates, the Charolotte company that brought NBA professional basketball to the Carolinas.  An entrepreneur, Lattimore has owned a sales training firm, a business consulting group, retail and rental property businesses. He was one of the founders of North State Bank in Raleigh.

Lattimore earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Wofford College and served internships in the United States Senate and North Carolina General Assembly. He served in a Mechanized Infantry Unit of the Army National Guard. Lattimore currently serves as President of the Executives Club of Raleigh, and on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina 4-H Foundation. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Raleigh, and American Legion Post # 124 in Apex where he is Post Adjutant. He is a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal) where he is a lay reader, usher and former member of the vestry.

Lattimore is a North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission Certified Superior Court Mediator and a Certified IACT Mediator providing collaborative non-adversarial resolution of Medical Malpractice cases.

As a Professional Auctioneer with Johnson Properties of Angier, Lattimore auctions personal property, estates, businesses and equipment.  He has raised thousands of dollars for charities across the state donating his auction skills.  He is a graduate of the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering.
