Chesapeake Police Department is hosting their first annual “Women in Law Enforcement”
event on September 21, 2012 at Priority Toyota from 8:00 – 4:00 for women police officers in the Hampton Roads community.
Best-selling author of the business book “Leading from the Front” and co-founder of the leadership development firm Lead Star, Angie Morgan, is conducting the program, which is designed to provide women police officers an opportunity to connect, network, and share ideas during a one-day leadership development course. Morgan is a former Marine Corps Captain whose business provides military-inspired leadership training programs to companies and organizations such as Facebook, Norfolk Southern, ESPN, the US Senate and Eastern Virginia Medical School.
“The ‘Women in Law Enforcement’
event is a unique opportunity for women police officers. We are excited to provide them an additional resource for their professional development,”
said Lieutenant John Landfair, Director of Training at Chesapeake Police Department’s Law Enforcement Academy. “We also have invited women officers from neighboring departments to showcase our commitment in strengthening the law enforcement community.”
Women police officers from departments such as Suffolk, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Williamsburg will be in attendance.
