Alan Kellermann, who was born in Wisconsin, has written a debut collection of poetry called ‘You, Me and the Birds’ that focuses on love, lust, loss, art and myth.
Award-winning poet Robert Minhinnick said: “Alan is already a young writer of ambition and sophistication who’s capable of searing portraits.
“Here’s a newcomer we should all be watching.”
Frances Jenkins, Swansea Council’s Strategic Manager for Marketing, Tourism and Events, said “Alan already has an impressive publication record, with his work having appeared in Planet, Agenda, Poetry Ireland Review, the New Welsh Review, and in two of Parthian’s anthologies, Nu: Fiction and Stuff and Ten of the Best.
“It’s quite fitting that a member of staff who works at the Dylan Thomas Centre is launching his book at the venue.”
Alan will be launching his book alongside Anna Lewis’s ‘Other Harbours’.
Entry to the book launch is free.
In 2001, Alan won the Eleanor B. North and Judson Q. Owen awards from Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. In 2011, he completed a PhD in Poetry at Swansea University, where he has led seminars in creative writing.
