How Do You Hypnotize Children?

April 2, 2013 - PRLog -- (Dallas) Hypnosis for Children may seem uncomfortable to some, but parents are waking up to the possibilites and benefits from considering working with a qualified Hypnotherapist for their children.

The fact is that children up to about the age of 14 are very easy to work with when it comes to hypnosis. They are naturally in the same brainwave states that people enter when they go into hypnosis.

Brainwaves are a measurement of the electrical frequency of the brain and include beta, alpha, theta and delta. Beta is a conscious waking state, and I say waking state not becuase the others are a state of sleep, but because we enter into the other states when we sleep. We also enter into the others during hypnosis and meditation. Beta is considered to be in a range of 14-21 cycles per second. Once people reach the age of 14 they are primarily in this state.

All of these frequencies are present all the time, but one is stronger than the others, and that is what is meant when someone says you are in beta or you are in alpha. The brainwaves are typically measured using an electroencephalograph, or EEG.

It's interesting that the frequency ranges for these states in children line up with the ages they are when they are in these states. Children from 7-14 are primarily in an alpha state, and 7-14 is the range for alpha.

Theta is a deeper state of sleep, hypnosis and meditation and the range is 3-7 cycles per second. You guessed it, children 3-7 years old are primarily in the theta state. Younger children are primarily in the delta state, which is from .5 to 3 cycles per second. Kids learn a lot when they are young, they learn to walk and talk, and are like a sponge when it comes to learning. This ability to learn so much information is partially due to them being in these states naturally.

So to the point of this article, how do you hypnotize a child? Well, since they are already there up to about the age of 14, it is quite easy. All you need to do to hypnotize a child is say, close your eyes. That's really all it takes. Other processes can be used to deep them, such as having them watch a movie or play a video game on the back of their eye lids, this works very well to get them into this state.

The fact is that parents are willing to do whatever it takes to help their children, hypnosis for bedwetting, biting fingernails, anxiety, study improvement as well as dealing with challenges such as hypnosis for children with ADD or aspergers are common reasons parents consider hypnosis for their children.

Many times parents will call a hypnotist with a challenge that may not have been considered before by ther hypnotist. This does not mean it is impossible to help, it just means that the parent is considering all options, and in most casesit is possible to provide assistance to the child in need.

As people open up to the possibilties when it comes to hypnosis and especially hypnosis for children, they will find that there are many benefits to introducing them to hypnosis and self hypnosis. A good qualified Hypnotherapist will teach all their clients self hypnosis, and this includes children.
