Using Quickbooks for Property Management

Sept. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- There are many different Softwares that are used across the property management industry, however for the money it is hard to get past using Quickbooks.  Of course there are many different sub-markets to get into such as Rental, Association Management, Commercial, but you can set up Quickbooks to work for each one.

It is evident that Quickbooks can be tailored and used efficiently because often times you will see other market specific software integrate with Quickbooks to utilize their accounting module instead of trying to create their own.  At Inventive Property Management this is the way that we like to run our business and is the philosophy that we believe in.  In the next few paragraphs we will elaborate on why we think this is beneficial.

First, as you can imagine price.  Instead of purchasing a huge software that costs thousands of dollars, often times you can get much of the same functionality with either a plugin or an add-on software.  Where some of the bigger names in the industry such as Yardi, Jenark and many others are extremely expensive, running up your overhead costs, you can get the same benefits without breaking the bank.

Secondly, freedom to change.  Let's say you are using one of the major software providers, but you get so frustrated because of issues or lack in technology or any number of problems.  Can you imagine how hard it would be to change from Yardi, to Jenark, or to any other big software.  Now imagine you are using an addon software.  You aren't getting the service you desire, since your accounting module stays the same, you shouldn't skip a beat.  Simply, export your information from the property management add on and import it into your new software of choice.
