Penn Camera has been serving the Rockville area since 1991, and is now entering into a new partnership with VisArts in order to provide local photo enthusiasts with a wide range of engaging and inspirational courses in a state-of-the-
VisArts at Rockville is a dynamic, nonprofit arts center dedicated to engaging the community in the arts and providing opportunities for artistic exploration, education and participation. Calumet University (Cal U) is a national program developed by Calumet Photographic to provide highquality, photo-education classes at each of their 12 retail locations across the country.
"Partnering with VisArts gives our program in the D.C. area a sophisticated and comfortable learning facility for participants to receive a much higher level of instruction than we could offer on our own," said Brian Carroll, President and CEO of Calumet Holdings. "We are thrilled to team up with such a well-respected organization."
Cal U instructors are local professional photographers and Penn Camera staff, and each brings years of shooting and teaching experience, and a deep passion for photography. Classes begin on Thursday evenings, September 6, with the first course: Foundations in Photography. This six-course program allows students to advance their skills in all basic areas of photography, from getting the most out of their cameras, expanding their vision, understanding the effects of available light and creating expressive inkjet prints.
