Follow on Google News | West Side Barber Shop Opens in NorthWest CrossingNew classic-style barber shop is open for business in the Bend, Oregon neighborhood center
By: NorthWest Crossing “When we first looked at NorthWest Crossing with our realtor, we knew it was the right location for our new shop,” said Travis. “It is a very family-friendly place with a great sense of community, and fit perfectly with our own goals of providing a comfortable, welcoming place for parents with their sons and men who want to get a shave or haircut at a great price.” Travis, who is a Central Oregon native, has had an interesting journey to becoming a barber. He learned his excellent customer services skills during several years and several different positions at the iconic Les Schwab tire company in Central Oregon. Subsequently, he became a helicopter pilot in the Valley. When an injury required him to change careers, he went back to school to learn to be a barber. His wife Jen is also a hair stylist. He’s been working as a barber for the last three years. When he’s not busy making the men and boys of Central Oregon look well-groomed, Travis can be found working on his '53 Chevy Bel Air and hanging out with his wife, four-year-old daughter and dog in the great outdoors. His extended family still lives in Prineville, where he grew up. The shop should have online resources in place, such as a website and Facebook page, in the next few months. No appointment is necessary, but those interested in contacting the shop can call 541-647-6911 or email cruzin53sled@ About NorthWest Crossing NorthWest Crossing is a mixed-use community on Bend’s west side which has won several national awards for its green building practices, as well as being a 2011 recipient of the Environmental Center’s Sustainability Award and 2010 Building a Better Central Oregon Award.
