Munger Construction To Erect Prototype Building For Precision Metal Products

Aug. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- Branford, CT; Precision Metal Products, Inc. has chosen Pat Munger Construction Company, Inc. to build a prototype facility where it can test the benefits of cellular manufacturing, a model for workplace design where the factory floor is arranged into semi-autonomous and multi-skilled teams who manufacture complete products or complex components.  Cellular manufacturing follows Lean Manufacturing principles where one of the goals is to facilitate engagement and empowerment at all levels of the organization.

The prototype will be a 1900 sq. ft. masonry building including rubber roof and block walls.  According to John Baloga, Precision Metal Products General Manager, "We selected Munger Construction because of their knowledge and professionalism displayed during our initial meetings. If the prototype proves successful, the stage will be set for Precision Metal Products to expand its use of cellular manufacturing.
